Reds end Gotze interest

Liverpool pull out of Mario Gotze chase

10 July 2016 - 14:34

Liverpool are no longer in the running to sign Bayern Munich attacker Mario Gotze. Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund remain in the hunt for the World Cup winner.

  • Chelsea eyeing surprise move for former Arsenal striker
  • Man Utd favourites to sign £39m Brazilian midfielder

  • The German international endured a tough season at the Bavarian giants last term, and this has led to suggestions that he could shipped out in the current transfer window.

A report from The Liverpool Echo says the Reds have pulled out of the chase for the versatile playmaker with Jurgen Klopp not keen on a reunion.

Klopp had a good time with Gotze at former club BVB, but his performances over the past year seem to have evaporated the interest.

Meanwhile, the player's entourage have been in constant contact with Spurs as they look to push through a Premier League move this summer.

Gotze has racked 36 goals in 114 outings for Bayern till date.
