Chelsea have entered negotiations with Leicester City to bring French midfielder N'Golo Kante to Stamford Bridge this summer. The 25-year-old was a prime figure in the Foxes setup as they went on to lift an unprecedented league title last term.
According to The Telegraph, the Blues have stepped up their interest in Kante after Chinese side Shanghai SIPG tabled a £35m pound offer for his services.
Kante currently has a £20m release clause on his contract, which is not applicable to English clubs, and this could tempt the Foxes to accept the highest bid for their asset.
The Blues are currently reluctant to match Shanghai's £35m offer, and discussions are likely to through the week for the midfield enforcer.
The France international recently snubbed a £100,000-a-week contract at the King Power Stadium with a view to securing a bigger challenge elsewhere.
