  • Early reports suggested that Lazio could secure a season-long loan for the 26-year-old with a view to a permanent move at the end of next season.

However, Sky Sport Italia says Swansea have taken full control over the negotiations with the club's hierarchy willing to pay £8.4m upfront with an additional £2.5m as performance-based bonuses.

Valencia will have his future resolved in the coming week with the Hammers close to recruiting their marquee striker this summer.

Slaven Bilic's side are currently in advanced negotiations with AC Milan to land Colombian marksman Carlos Bacca.

Since moving from Pachuca in 2014, the Ecuador international has netted 10 goals in 56 games for the East London outfit.
