Chelsea sign NGolo Kante

Kante seals Chelsea transfer

Chelsea sign N'Golo Kante

16 July 2016 - 16:05

Chelsea have announced the signing of Leicester City midfielder N'Golo Kante on a five-year contract. The Blues have paid a fee in the region of £32m for his signature.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Kante was a key player for the Foxes last season as they went to clinch their first-ever league title against the odds.

Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri was initially confident of keeping hold of the Frenchman, but the lure of joining the Blues was just too good for the former Caen man.

"I am so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in Europe," Kante was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

"The opportunity to work with Antonio Conte, a brilliant coach, and some of the best players in the world was simply too good to turn down."

The 25-year-old made the most number of interceptions during the previous campaign as he earned himself a place in the PFA Team of the Year.

He also becomes Antonio Conte's second signing at Stamford Bridge following the addition of Michy Batshuayi from Marseille.
