Liverpool to offer Lucas Leiva in Georginio Wijnaldum deal?

Liverpool can get their hands on Georginio Wijnaldum this summer, provided they offer Lucas Leiva as part of the proposed deal. The Brazilian is currently the club's longest-serving player having joined them from Gremio in 2007.

  • Chelsea have clear stance on signing Victor Osimhen

  • According to The Telegraph, Magpies boss Rafael Benitez is willing to do business with the Reds, if he can recruit Leiva as the part of the transfer agreement.

The Championship side are currently holding out on a &pound27m sum for the Dutchman, but this could come down, should a player-plus-cash deal go through.

Leiva is for now reluctant to drop divisions, but the lure of captaincy at Tyneside could be an enticing prospect for the midfielder.

Benitez had a good relationship with the 29-year-old during his time at Liverpool.
