  • The 31-year-old was previously tipped to remain at the Europa League holders before the Swans came coming for his services.

Llorente will wear the number nine shirt at the Liberty Stadium, and is likely to lead the line against Burnley in the Premier League opener.

"I am very happy to join Swansea," he told the Swans official website.

"I have scored goals in La Liga and Serie A, and now I want to score a lot of goals for the club in the Premier League.

"I want to score a lot of goals like [former Swansea striker and fellow Spaniard] Michu. He is a very good player and did very well here."

Llorente, who is a former World Cup winner, could make his first appearance for Swansea City when they take on Rennes in their final friendly on Saturday.
