Leicester City have stolen the march on West Bromwich Albion to secure the services of Sporting striker Islam Slimani. The Algerian international has previously attracted interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Slimani was in fine form for Sporting during the previous campaign netting 29 goals in 43 outings in all competitions.
Spanish outlet AS says the Premier League holders have agreed to pay a fee of around £25.6m for the marksman which is about £4.3m more than what the Baggies had offered.
The 28-year-old is expected to take part in his side's key encounter against Porto on Sunday before finalizing a move to the King Power Stadium.
Slimani would be the Foxes' sixth arrival of the summer as they gear up to challenge Europe's elite in the Champions League.
