Real Madrid want Mir in squad next season

Real Madrid target Rafa Mir

10 September 2016 - 13:40

Real Madrid will make their move to sign Valencia youngster Rafa Mir next summer provided they win their appeal against a transfer ban.

  • Arsenal handed major boost on Odegaard for Newcastle trip
  • Enzo Maresca explains why Cole Palmer didn't face Newcastle

  • The European champions are prohibited from making any signings until January 2018 after they were handed a transfer embargo for breaking rules protecting young underage players.

According to Spanish source AS, Mir will be the leading target for the Spanish giants if they are free to recruit fresh players at the end of the campaign.

Mir, who featured in Barcelona's La Masia academy between 2009 and 2011, made his first-team debut for Los Che against Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League last year.

The teenager was initially a futsal player with CD Javali Nuevo and ElPozo Murcia FS before his transition took place as a full footballer at Ranero CF whom he represented for two seasons prior to joining Barcelona.
