Mario Balotelli dreams of winning Ballon d'Or

Italy international Mario Balotelli has suggested that he could become a Ballon d'Or winner in two to three years following his heroics for Nice over the weekend. The former Liverpool man scored a brace on his debut as his side beat Marseille by a 3-2 scoreline.

  • The 26-year-old sealed his Bosman switch to Nice on transfer deadline day after Liverpool were fed up of keeping hold of his services.

Following Nice's triumph over Marseille. Balotelli told reporters that he regretted his move to Anfield, and he would have been much better off had he plyed his trade somewhere else.

He added that he still has ambitions of lifting the Ballon d'Or and it is not too late to transform himself into one of the world's most fearsome strikers.

Furthermore when asked on Hatem Ben Arfa's influence, he had no clue who the player was until he saw what he did for the club last season.

Ben Arfa netted 18 goals in his sole season at Nice before he opted to join Paris Saint-Germain at the expiry of his contract this summer.
