Arsenal could land Lacazette in January

Arsenal eyeing winter deal for Lacazette?

Arsenal could step up their interest in Alexandre Lacazette in the New Year after he stalled on talks over a fresh contract at Lyon. The 25-year-old wants a buy-out clause in his new deal, something which Les Gones are reluctant to include.

  • The France international had been the subject of £40m bids from Arsenal and West Ham United over the summer, but Lyon were adamant they would not offload their asset for anything less than £57m.

Sources in France suggest that Lyon are willing to offer a fresh contract to Lacazette which will see him earn wages of around £100,000-a-week.

However, the striker has no thoughts of penning an extension unless the Ligue 1 club place a fair buy-out clause in his contract.

As things stand, the Gunners could get their man in the January transfer window for a similar sum which was turned down last month.

Lacazette has been in prime form for Lyon this term netting six goals in just four league games.
