Man City to battle Arsenal for 'new Yaya Toure'

26 September 2016 - 08:01

Manchester City have joined the likes of Arsenal, Juventus and Napoli in the pursuit of highly-rated Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie. The teenager has amassed four goals in the Serie A this season.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The 19-year-old has previously suggested that he has a dream of representing Manchester United in the future.

But the Red Devils seem to hold no interest in the young prospect, and it is the Gunners who had scouted the Ivory Coast international in the past week.

According to The Express, City coach Pep Guardiola has urged the club's hierarchy to move for Kessie, who is mainly deployed as the midfield anchorman.

The Catalan tactician feels the player has all the goods to perform at the big stage, and the Citizens must approach first if they are to land his services in the New Year.

Kessie linked up with the Italian minnows from Stella Club last year, and spent the previous campaign on loan with Cesena. He has earned four caps with his national side till date.
