Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has insisted that he was not responsible for Juan Mata's exit from Chelsea. The Spain international left Stamford Bridge for a move to Manchester United in January 2014.
Previous reports had claimed that the Special One was the main decision maker when the Spaniard was shipped out from the Blues during the 2013-14 season.
However, the 53-year-old has now revealed he had no thoughts of offloading Mata in his time at Chelsea, and it was rather the midfielder who decided to pursue a fresh challenge at a new club.
Adding to this, the Portuguese coach feels Mata has transformed into a very good player for the Mancunian giants and he is more suited to the style of football adapted at Old Trafford.
Since arriving at Manchester United, the attacker has racked over 100 appearances netting 28 goals in the process.
