Manchester United are prepared to terminate Bastian Schweinsteiger's contract for a reported sum of £10m. The German international recently returned to first-team training having been excluded during the opening stages of the campaign.
Schweinsteiger, 32, was written off as an asset in the club's accounts earlier in September with manager Jose Mourinho not keen on playing him in his matchday squad.
According to reports in Germany, the midfielder will be on the search for a new club in January with United willing to pay a £10m fee to take him off their books.
French side Marseille have recently expressed interest in the World Cup winner, who has claimed that United would be his final club in Europe.
Schweinsteiger has appeared in 31 outings for Manchester United in all competitions since his surprise switch from Bayern Munich last term.
