Black Cats still keen on Vida

Sunderland to return for Vida

08 November 2016 - 06:05

Sunderland are expected to renew their interest in Dynamo Kiev defender Domagoj Vida during the winter transfer window. The Black Cats failed with an approach for the centre-half in the summer.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • The 27-year-old was one of the Black Cats' top targets last summer but their reluctance to match Dynamo's £10m asking price pulled the plug on the deal.

According to The Mirror, David Moyes will once again move for the Croatian international with the defence needing some strengthening in the New Year.

The Wearside outfit are hopeful of convincing Dynamo into a sale with a £6m offer likely to be made for the versatile defender.

Vida is capable of playing at either centre-back or right-back, and this will provides the additional depth for the Black Cats, who have leaked goals since the start of the campaign.

The defender has less than two years left on his current deal with the Ukrainian giants.
