Koke keen on Atleti extension

12 November 2016 - 13:59

Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke has revealed his desire to extend his contract beyond the summer of 2019.

  • Man Utd planning to replace Erik ten Hag after FA Cup final
  • Arsenal midfielder eyeing move to Turkish giants

  • The Spain international remains committed to Atleti despite Diego Simeone's decision to leave Vicente Calderon in 2018.

While being questioned on his future plans, Koke insisted that his aim remains on playing for the La Liga giants, and is hopeful that he can prolong his stay beyond his existing deal.

"I have a contract. It runs until 2019 and so I will fulfil that until 2019. And if the club wants to, we will talk and it will be renewed," he told Goal.

Koke has amassed over 250 appearances for the Capital outfit since graduating from his side's youth system in the 2009-10 season. He is also a regular with his national side having earned 28 caps till date.
