Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing a January bid for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson. The Magpies had previously recruited midfielder Matt Ritchie from Dean Court in the summer.
According to Chronicle Live, the Magpies are lining up an offer for Wilson, who they seek as the perfect side to lead the attack.
Former Cherries teammate Ritchie was content to drop a division to join a club on Newcastle's calibre and it is believed that Wilson would not mind doing the same with the prospect of a Premier League return in 2017.
The arrival of a new striker at St.James Park could coincide with the departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has been linked with a possible move to the Serie A.
Newcastle United currently hold a five point lead in the Championship having won their last nine games in convincing fashion.
