Essien: we must beat Morocco

27 January 2008 - 16:55

Michael Essien has called on his Ghana teammates to work harder if they are to qualify for the next round of the African Nations. They need a draw on Monday against Morocco to qualify, whilst a loss may mean elimination.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • "We have to take the game against Morocco very seriously," Essien said.

"The game against Morocco is going to be a tough. We are going to have to keep working hard in training.

"We were a little unlucky in front of goal but we were struggling to get our final pass right," Essien said. "But in the end we managed to win.

"I know people were expecting more goals from us but in this case I think the three points are more important. Even if you score 10, you still get the same points."
