Man Utd, Chelsea to compete for Tiemoue Bakayoko

English giants Manchester United and Chelsea will reportedly fight it out for the services of AS Monaco ace Tiemoue Bakayoko in the New Year.

  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?
  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?

  • The 22-year-old, who joined Monaco from Rennes in 2014, has been influential to his side's purple patch in Ligue 1 this term.

Bakayoko's representative had hinted earlier in September that the Frenchman was the subject of interest from five clubs with Manchester United being one among the contenders.

According to The Times, the Red Devils are lining up a £40m offer for the player in January but they will face competition from high-flying Chelsea.

The Premier League leaders have earmarked Bakayoko as a potential option to bolster their squad with Oscar tipped to join Shanghai SIPG on a £50m deal next month.

Serie A holders Juventus are also said to be keeping tabs on the powerful midfielder.
