Vogts future in doubt

Vogts future in doubt

29 January 2008 - 17:51

Nigeria's manager Berti Vogts will consider his future if Nigeria fail to qualify beyond the group stages in the African Nations.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The Super Eagles' 1-0 loss to Ivory Coast and the 0-0 draw with Mali means Nigeria's qualification from Group B is out of their hands.

He said: "I have a contract until 2010 and that is what I want to think about not what you (the media) think."

"But if you are desperate to get an answer, you will have to wait," he added.

"After this tournament when I go back to Germany then I will think about things and especially about you (the media)."

There has been a lot of dissatisfaction from Nigeria fans towards Vogts. Police had to prevent fans attacking the team bus after the Mali game.
