West Ham reject third bid from Marseille for Payet

Payet could remain at West Ham for the season

West Ham reject third bid from Marseille for Payet

24 January 2017 - 06:16

West Ham United seem unlikely to offload Dimitri Payet in the January transfer window after they rebuffed a fresh offer from Marseille for the Frenchman.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The attacker has refused to take the playing field for the Hammers this month as he bids to return to the south of France due to family reasons.

According to Sky Sports News, Slaven Bilic's side have turned down a renewed bid from Les Phoceens as it is still below their £30m valuation.

The French club are said to have tabled a sum in excess of £25m, but this has not urged the Hammers to sell despite Payet's recent behaviour at the club.

The 29-year-old has not been named in the matchday squad in recent games after he suggested that he would fake an injury if he is to be picked for the starting lineup.

Payet is also on the radar of several Chinese clubs, but he is focused on sealing a return to his beloved Marseille.
