Premier League holders Leicester City will return with a fresh offer for Middlesbrough's Gaston Ramirez ahead of next week's transfer deadline.

The Uruguay international remains the top priority for the Foxes as they seek to strengthen their attack before the end of the month.

According to PA Sport, Claudio Ranieri's side will step up their interest in Ramirez in the coming days with Boro open to selling their player at the right price.

The Foxes have had an initial &pound12m offer snubbed for the attacker, but it is said that they will come up with an additional &pound3m package in order to convince Boro over the sale.

Ramirez has already handed in a transfer request at Middlesbrough in a bid to push through a move to the King Power Stadium.
