Sunderland have tabled a bid for Estoril midfielder Diogo Amado. The player has been with his current club since 2012 and had a spell with Sheffield Wednesday prior to his move back to Portugal.

WBA scouts are impressed with what they have seen of the player in the domestic league and are to open discussions with Estoril regarding a summer transfer move.

Diogo has also spent time playing for Sporting Lisbon as a teenager and also established himself in Leiria's side between 2010-2012. Amado has played for Portugal at every youth level.
