Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is likely to remain beyond the summer as the club prepare to offer him a fresh contract. The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent seasons.
Speculation earlier this week claimed that the France international could head out of Los Blancos in the summer with club president Florentino Perez ready to recruit a youthful replacement.
However, according to AS, the former Lyon star still remains a wanted man at the Bernabeu, and the club are set to offer him a three-year extension to his current contract in June.
Benzema, who is contracted to Los Blancos until 2019, has netted 173 goals in 344 outings for the club in all competitions, including 12 in 27 appearances this campaign.
He has never been a fan favourite among the Real Madrid faithful, but it appears that Zinedine Zidane is keen to work alongside his compatriot for many years to come.
