Everton to sign Kasper Schmeichel?

19 February 2017 - 06:20

Everton are prepared to offer a fresh challenge to Leicester City's Kasper Schmeichel after what has become a dismal campaign for the reigning champions.

  • Man Utd expecting €80m boost with double player sale
  • Man Utd set for big injury boost vs Bournemouth
  • The Denmark international has seen his side slump from their historical triumph last term to a position where relegation seems a distinct possibility.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is expected to move for a top-class goalkeeper in the summer, and according to The Mirror, Schmeichel could be the player to head to Goodison in July.

Schmeichel has not been able to replicate his form from the previous campaign, and part of the blame could be put on the Foxes defence which has been far from convincing over the campaign.

Merseyside rivals Liverpool have previously been credited with an interest for the Dane, but it appears that the Toffees could clinch a &pound15m deal for the Premier League winner in the summer.

Schmeichel is due to have a busy outing in the Champions League in midweek with Sevilla likely to pile on the pressure in the last 16, first-leg.
