Clubs On Alert Over Wenger Departure

Wenger will be managing next season, but where is not confirmed

Clubs On Alert Over Wenger Departure

19 February 2017 - 11:05

Despite his future at Arsenal coming under considerable scrutiny this week, Arsene Wenger confirmed that he will still be managing next season, whether that is at the Emirates Stadium or elsewhere. This has made a few clubs stand up and take an interest in Wenger.

  • Chelsea eyeing part-exchange deal to sign Osimhen
  • Chelsea & Arsenal handed blow in Bundesliga striker pursuit

  • Wenger's contract with the North London expires in the summer, and after a humiliating defeat in Europe this week, and some fans questioning if any progress has been made over recent years, it may be the end of his 21 year affair with the Gunners.

Two teams that seem very interested in the Frenchman are Italian powerhouses AC and Inter Milan. Both of these teams are determined to return to glory days of the past, and Wenger may be the man to take them there. Both clubs have backing from ambitious Chinese owners, who would like to bring the managerial icon to the San Siro. AC Milan in particular could be the destination, with the takeover not being fully completed until next month, with the knew owners possibly looking to bring in their own man.

Should the Italian giants not be the next destination for Wenger, Spanish clubs Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao are also said to be interested.
