In a week where manager dismissals have been the talking point in the football world, a report today suggests that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte may quit Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and return to Italy.
Italian publication La Repubblica has reported today that Antonio Conte is feeling homesick in England, and despite having a fantastic first season in charge of Chelsea so far, is looking to leave the London club in the summer.
Conte. 47, has lead his team back to the top of the Premier League, and with only twelve games to go, have a ten point lead. Chelsea are also still in the FA Cup, with a quarter final tie against Manchester United coming up.
Inter Milan are rumoured to be interested in the Italian, having just been the subject of a takeover and currently struggling to compete at the top of Serie A. The Italian top division is familiar to Conte, who has previously lead Juventus to three Serie A titles.
Additional reports suggest also that Conte is not fully satisfied with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic, as the Russian has yet to confirm the budget that Conte will have available to spend in the summer, preventing him from fully preparing plans for next season.
After a poor season last year, Chelsea have been fantastic this year, which Conte deserves full credit for. The Premier League leaders will be desperate to hold on to their manager, as they look to get back to the top of English football.
