Rangers have scored a bit of a transfer coup on transfer deadline day as they sealed the loan signing of Steven Davis from Fulham. The Northern Ireland international had fallen out of favour at Fulham and Roy Hodgson had informed the former Villa midfielder that he was surplus to requirements.
The 23-year-old Northern Ireland international has joined the Ibrox club until the end of the season after falling out of favour Fulham following the arrival of Roy Hodgson as manager last month.
Davis only joined the Cottagers in the summer from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee believed to be around the £4.5million mark.
However, the ball-winning midfielder actually began his career with an unsuccessful trial at Rangers and revealed his delight at finally signing for the Glasgow club.
"It really is a dream come true for me. I have been a fan all of my life so to get the chance to come to Rangers is fantastic," he told the club's official website.
"I grew up as a fan and I have remained that way so when I heard that Rangers were interested in taking me it was a no-brainer really.
"Since the manager has been changed at Fulham things have not worked out for me so I welcome this chance to come to Glasgow.
"I'm finally getting my chance after missing out when I was a kid. I came over for trials when I was 12 and I played in the same team as Stevie Smith.
"I'm glad he's doing well again and I look forward to meeting up with him when I get there tomorrow."
