Ghanaian international Gerald Asamoah has signed a new three year contract at Schalke despite rumours that the frontman might be looking for a move away from the club.
Asamoahâs contract was due to expire in the summer, but his impressive displays have earned the Ghana-born forward a new engagement until June 2011.
âWe are happy to be able to continue with Gerald,â general manager Andreas Mueller declared.
âHe has been a major factor in our performances since 1999 and his values are ours.
âHe is a fansâ favourite and Asa is very important for us.â
The player added on the clubâs official website: âSchalke are family, and I want to finish my career at the club.â
