Heerenveen have completed the signing of Michal Svec from Slavia Prague on a four year contract believed to be worth around £1.5 million.
The 20-year-old defensive midfielder, who is a member of the Czech Republic's under-21 team, scored two goals in 66 league matches for Slavia.
Financial details of the transfer were not given, but Czech media said Slavia would receive about 50 million koruna (C$2.8 million).
