Bellerin to Barcelona 'fake rumours' - Wenger

17 March 2017 - 06:13

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that Hector Bellerin will not be leaving for Barcelona at the end of the current campaign.

  • Arsenal & Man Utd handed boost in signing French star
  • Man Utd planning to replace Erik ten Hag after FA Cup final

  • The Spain international inked a fresh six-and-a-half year deal earlier in the season, but despite this, he continues to be linked with a potential return to Camp Nou.

Recent speculation suggested that the Spanish champions could revive their pursuit next month with club officials due to meet up with Gunners' director of operations Dick Law in order to finalize a £35m deal.

However, the manager has rubbished the claims by citing that the Spaniard has an 'unbelievable' amount of time left on his present contract.

Bellerin had committed his future on the long-term after he received assurances that Wenger would stay at the Emirates, and it will be interesting to see how the right-back reacts if the Frenchman ends his 21-year reign with the club this summer.

Wenger is currently in the dark over his Arsenal future, but he is expected to be rewarded with a two-year contract, should he turn things around in the final third of the season.
