Champions League quarter final draw

17 March 2017 - 11:16

The draw for the quarter final of this season's Champions League was made this morning, as the eight remaining teams waited in anticipation to see who their next opponents would be. The reigning champions Real Madrid are one of three La Liga teams still in the competition, alongside Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Germany is represented by Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, whilst England, France and Italy have one representative each in Leicester City, Monaco and Juventus respectively.

  • Arsenal make surprise decision on Viktor Gyokeres
  • Arsenal to battle Napoli to sign Alexsandro Ribeiro?

  • The draw was made in Nyon, Switzerland by representatives from Uefa. The quarter final first leg ties will be played on the 11th and 12th April, with the return legs the following week.

Here is the draw for the Champions League quarter final:

    Atletico Madrid v Leicester City

    Borussia Dortmund v Monaco

    Bayern Munich v Real Madrid

    Juventus v Barcelona

In what has turned out to be a great quarter final draw, Leicester City will face another tough Spanish opponent in the form of Atletico Madrid. They will not be fancied to progress past the La Liga side, but then again, nobody expected them to reach this stage. Real Madrid and Barcelona avoided each other in this round, although they both face tough matches, against Bayern Munich and Juventus respectively.
