Manchester United are set to face strong competition for the services of Benfica's Nelson Semedo amid interest from Serie A duo Juventus and AC Milan.

  • Man Utd attacker pushing to be fit for Chelsea game

  • The Red Devils were previously rumoured to have finalized a £35m move for the right-back after Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira flew to England to hold discussions.

However, according to Portuguese source O Jogo, the Red Devils could lose out on the player altogether with both Juventus and Milan keen on his services.

Juventus are understood to be lining up a move for Semedo amid the uncertainty over the future of Dani Alves, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Milan are expected to strengthen their squad reasonably in the summer irrespective of a failed takeover from Sino-Europe.

Semedo, who has graduated through the Benfica youth system, has earned 56 appearances for the senior squad to date. He also has a solitary cap with Portugal earned back in October 2015.
