Belgium manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Eden Hazard will be out for at least two weeks after having sustained a calf problem at Chelsea.

  • The 26-year-old missed the Blues' late 2-1 win over Stoke City following the injury suffered while training at Cobham.

Hazard was initially tipped to play some part in Belgium's fixtures against Russia and Greece, but he has pulled out of the side in order to recuperate from his niggle.

Martinez has revealed that the attacker left the Belgium camp on Monday to return to west London where he will continue his treatment.

"He has been in Belgium but not with the group, and we are working with Chelsea to get the best treatment," he told reporters. "It is a big problem to lose Hazard, it is obvious that we wanted to have him, but it will be a good test for us without him."

Hazard has netted 11 goals and four assists in the Blues' successful campaign this term, and they will be hopeful that he will make his comeback at the earliest opportunity.

If the initial scans are correct, the playmaker could miss the league clash against Crystal Palace on April 1 while also leaving him doubtful for the Manchester City game four days later.
