  • The England international has been in good form since the festive period, and this has earned him a call-up to Gareth Southgate's side having missed out on the previous two occasions.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has iterated that Barkley remains a key player for the Merseysiders as they move forward, but his contract situation is something which is worrying the club everyday.

Barkley will be entering the final year of his Toffees contract in the summer, and talks over an extension are yet to progress with the attacker keen on a switch to the Capital.

According to The Mirror, both Spurs and Blues are planning potential moves for the Englishman, who could be available for a bargain price of just £10m in the next transfer window.

Barkley has notched a goal and five assists in his last 10 outings across all competitions for Everton.
