Manchester United could be lining up a summer bid for Jordi Alba, who is unsettled over his situation at Barcelona.
The Spain international has struggled for a regular run in the starting lineup this campaign having been dropped for the games against Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks.
According to The Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are keeping a close eye on the status of Alba amid the uncertainty over the future of Luke Shaw.
Shaw, 21, has largely warmed the substitutes' bench since November, and he is said to be eyeing a move elsewhere with Stoke City and Crystal Palace credited with an interest in his signature.
Meanwhile, Alba, who has made just 14 league starts this season, is expecting to assess his future at the end of the campaign, and the chance to work with Jose Mourinho could be something he could favour.
Despite his recent disappointment at Camp Nou, Alba remains the favourite to represent Spain on the left side of the defence.
