Chelsea striker Diego Costa admits that he could test himself in the French Ligue 1 once he decides to leave Stamford Bridge.

  • Man Utd midfielder could move to Spain, Italy or France

  • The Spain international has been instrumental in the Blues' Premier League campaign this term following a frustrating 2015-16 season where they finished 10th in the standings.

Costa is due to begin talks over a potential extension at Chelsea in the summer, but he is still open to the prospect of a switch to France with AS Monaco, Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain among his preferred destinations.

"Marseille have constructed a nice project and Paris Saint-Germain, we know, are respected in Europe," Costa told Sky Sports.

"Monaco also have a wonderful project and have some great players. Ligue 1 is developing.

"I am very happy at Chelsea but anything can happen in football. If I need to make a change, France is a country where I have never played. So why not?"

Costa has netted 18 goals for the west London giants, who look on course to lift the Premier League title this season whilst also making significant strides towards the FA Cup.
