Arsenal goalkeeper heading for summer exit, not Szczesny

Colombia international David Ospina will push for a summer exit from Arsenal after having grown frustrated with the lack of regular action at the Emirates.

  • The 28-year-old has deputized for Petr Cech for most of the campaign - just as he did last season, and he is now concerned about his long-term prospects at the club, The Mirror reports.

The former Nice man is likely to retain the number one role for a few games with Cech nursing a calf injury after which he could only hope for first team football in the FA Cup.

Arsenal are currently in the semi-finals of the FA Cup where they face a tough test against Manchester City owing to their dismal form over the past month and more.

Ospina, who has earned 77 caps with his national side, will have plenty of suitors in the bag with Turkish giants Besiktas having previously failed with an approach for his signature.

Wojciech Szczesny is likely to return from his two-year loan spell with AS Roma, but it is still uncertain whether he would be willing to play backup to Cech on Ospina's departure.
