Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is lining up a potential attempt to sign Chelsea playmaker Cesc Fabregas in the summer.
The Spain international has largely played a backup role at Stamford Bridge this season with Antonio Conte in favour of Nemanja Matic and N'Golo Kante for the central midfield positions.
According to The Star, the Merseyside outfit could make a move for the former Arsenal man with the club nearly guaranteed qualification to next season's Champions League.
However, they will still face a tough task of luring the player as he is said to be settled in the English capital with his family.
Both AC Milan and Marseille are also understood to hold an interest in the Spaniard, but they are set to face a similar snub amid Fabregas' reluctance to switch clubs in the summer.
Fabregas has managed to amass six goals and 10 assists for the West London giants despite his restricted playing time over the course of the campaign.
