Arsenal have faced a dent in the pursuit of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette after he admitted that he would like to play for a Champions League based club next season.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The France international has been linked with a big-money move away from Les Gones with Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund among the contenders for his signature.

Speaking to UEFA's official website, the 25-year-old has revealed that he would like to join a club featuring in the Champions League while also playing good football, which involves passing.

He said: "[The team I will join] will have to be in the Champions League and play good football. Passing the ball, not just hitting it from box to box. Not kick and rush. That would not work for me."

Both Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are certainties for the elite competition next season, and this leaves the Gunners in a position to lose out on the marksman.

Arsene Wenger's side have qualified for the Champions League in each of the last 19 seasons, but it appears that they might miss out this time around.

Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League with 60 points, six behind fourth-placed Manchester City with an additional game to play.
