Bournemouth want John Terry and Jermaine Defoe

Cherries plot Terry & Defoe swoop this summer

Bournemouth want John Terry and Jermaine Defoe

05 May 2017 - 06:06

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is planning to bring a couple of experienced names to his squad with moves for John Terry and Jermaine Defoe this summer.

  • Chelsea suffer big injury blow ahead of Everton game
  • Enzo Fernandez refuses to rule out Chelsea exit

  • Terry, who holds a legendary status at Chelsea, is due to end his 22-year association in the summer after he decided against a one-year extension at Stamford Bridge.

On the other hand, Defoe will also be available on a free transfer with the Black Cats having failed to beat the drop despite his efforts upfront over the course of the campaign.

According to The Mail, Cherries coach Howe will seek to add the experienced pair to his squad next term in order to provide guidance to his younger players.

Terry has had limited playing time in west London this season, and this has urged him to consider a fresh challenge in England, be it against the wishes of the club's faithful.

Meanwhile, Defoe's 14 goals in the top flight have earned him a recall to the Three Lions squad, and he is desperate to maintain his place until next year's World Cup at the least.
