Leeds look set to appoint Steve Staunton as their assistant manager.

  • Chelsea make first move to sign Bournemouth star
  • Arsenal ace avoids surgery after knee injury
  • Staunton, the ex Republic of Ireland manager is going to join up with the Led's backroom staff within the week, joining Gary McAllister who he used to work with at Coventry.



    In Staunton's career gained 102 international caps and played for:



    1985–1986 Dundalk

    1986–1991 Liverpool

    1987 → Bradford City (loan)

    1991–1998 Aston Villa

    1998–2000 Liverpool

    2000 → Crystal Palace (loan)

    2000–2003 Aston Villa

    2003–2005 Coventry City

    2005–2006 Walsall



    Now as the possible assistant manager at Leeds he will be hoping that he can help promote them straight back into the Championship.
