Bellerin not on Barca radar - Agent

Bellerin agent confirms transfer interest

10 May 2017 - 10:52

Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin had received a transfer approach from a European club just after he inked a long-term deal at the Emirates, agent Albert Botines claims.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The 22-year-old was rewarded with a fresh six-and-a-half year deal in north London earlier in the season amid interest from a host of elite clubs.

Bellerin has since been continuously linked with a move to former club Barcelona despite his patchy form, and his representative suggests that Barca have made no contact following his contract renewal.

"Before he signed his renewal there were six or seven clubs interested in him, and that made him understand he was doing the right things," Botines toldĀ Goal.com.

"After he signed the renewal there were only two or three clubs who kept up their interest in Bellerin, and I have to say I only received one offer for him and it is not from Barcelona.

"I have read lots of things about this supposed interest from Barcelona but it has been a long time since the club last called me."

The former La Masia student has found himself on the substitutes' bench of late with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain getting the nod for the right wing-back in the fresh 3-4-2-1 formation under Arsene Wenger.

Regardless of this, he still remains a crucial player for the FA Cup finalists, who are looking to strengthen their existing squad in order to convince their top players to stay put at the club.

Bellerin has appeared in over 100 outings for Arsenal since making his first-team debut during the 2013/14 season.
