Brighton and Hove Albion will be a Premier League team next season, and they are lining up new signings to make sure that they are prepared for it. Current goalkeeper David Stockdale looks set to leave, and The Seagulls are lining up a replacement from La Liga side Valencia.
Stockdale is out of contract at the AmEx, and Chris Hughton will look to bring in Mathew Ryan from Valencia as his replacement, according to The World Game. Ryan is currently on loan at Belgian club Racing Genk and has impressed with a series of impressive displays.
Ryan signed a six year contract with Valencia just two years ago, but has only made a small number of appearances since. It is understood that Ryan would like to return to the Spanish club, but if he is not promised more playing time, will look for a move elsewhere.
If Brighton could complete this signing, it would be a great signal of their intent for the Premier League, with Ryan being highly rated around Europe. Making some good early signings would also help them to attract other talent to the club, with ambitions of becoming an established Premier League club.
