Gibson to remain at Boro next season?

Ben Gibson to stay put at Middlesbrough

Ben Gibson could reportedly snub advances from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool in order to stay put at Middlesbrough next season.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip
  • Gabriel Magalhaes to sign new Arsenal deal

  • The centre-back has been the standout performer for Boro during the ongoing campaign, but this has not been sufficient to keep them in the Premier League.

Gibson's side are due to return to the Championship next season, and there had been suggestions that the Englishman could be tempted by a bigger challenge in top flight.

However, according to The Mirror, the centre-back could stay committed to Boro for next season as he plans to bring them to the Premier League in the first coming.

Gibson earned his maiden call-up for England earlier in the campaign but his decision to return to the Championship could hinder his national team prospects ahead of next year's World Cup in England.

The 24-year-old has appeared in nearly 140 league outings for the Riverside outfit since his breakthrough spell in the 2013/14 season.
