Turkish team Trabzonspor are in the market for a new midfielder this summer, and reports in Turkey are claiming that Manchester United's Belgium international Marouane Fellaini has held discussions with the club over a potential move.Â
Since joining from Everton in 2013 for £27.5 million, Fellaini has divide opinions amongst the Old Trafford faithful. Many believe that he doesn't fit the mould of a Manchester United player, but it is undeniable that he has produced some crucial goals for the team during his time there.Â
Fellaini has just over a year remaining on his contract, so they may look to cash in on him this summer, to prevent the risk of losing him on a free transfer next year. It is expected that Jose Mourinho will spend big this summer to improve his side, so selling Fellaini would free up a squad space and additional funds.Â
The reports from Turkey are suggesting that Fellaini has spoken to Trabzonspor president Muharrem Usta about the possibility of a transfer at the end of the season.Â
Usta has said that "We are looking for players who will improve the team and help fill our new stadium," suggesting that the club are looking to draw attention to themselves by signing an established name with international experience.Â
