Spurs boss eyeing Gylfi Sigurdsson signing

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly planning to re-sign Gylfi Sigurdsson, who previously spent two years in north London.

  • The Icelandic footballer signed for Spurs from Hoffenheim in the summer of 2012 but largely struggled to make an impact before moving on the Liberty Stadium.

At Swansea, Sigurdsson appears to have found his range, and his ability to adapt as the main playmaker has brought the best of his abilities.

The attacker alongside Fernando Llorente have played a key role in the Swans' Premier League escape, and the Welsh outfit face the prospect of losing their key pair in the summer.

According to The Star, Pochettino is eager to retain the services of Sigurdsson, who left on his arrival as manager back in 2014.

Spurs have failed to make an impression in their European campaign in recent seasons, and the manager will be keen to put things right by bolstering his squad further in the summer.

The £25m-rated star has provided nine goals and 13 assists for Paul Clement's side, who have fought season-long to avoid the dreaded drop.
