Liverpool are interested in bringing Sampdoria forward Patrik Schick to the club but face an uphill task after Juventus also registered their interest in the player.

  • Arsenal handed major boost on Odegaard for Newcastle trip
  • Enzo Maresca explains why Cole Palmer didn't face Newcastle

  • The 21-year-old Czech forward has sparked interest in several big clubs across Europe after a magnificent season for Sampdoria which saw him score 11 goals in only 13 starts in the Seria A. It was a stunning return of goals in what was the young forward's debut season in the league. He has also already been capped three times by the national team, scoring once.

Liverpool had already enquired about the player but now

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that the Reds will have to compete with a whole host of clubs for the €25 million-rated player, including Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Roma and most notably Juventus.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has had to deal with problems regarding the forward role this season. Danny Ings is still out with a long-term injury, Daniel Sturridge has not been able to maintain his fitness level and remain healthy while Divock Origi lacks consistency.

However, Di Marzio has also claimed that Juventus are firm favorites to land Schick as he wants to remain in the Serie A and also due to fellow countryman and Juventus legend Pavel Nedved's link with the player.
