Boro close in on Mido move

Egyptian striker Mido is closing in on a move to Middlesbrough to Tottenham in a deal worth an estimated £5.5m. Gareth Southgate is hopeful of completing the deal within 36 hours.

Mido's move to Birmingham seemed to have been cancelled, and recently Steve Bruce had announced that he was still in the chase for the striker's signature. Now, Gareth Southgate appears to have stolen a march on his rivals who were chasing the Egyptian.



Mido has been keen to switch club in his search for first-team football.
