David de Gea could reportedly stay committed to Manchester United after they managed to secure a place in next season's Champions League.

  • The Spain international had been tipped to join the European champions back in the summer of 2015 but the move fell through on deadline day due to a delayed transmission of paperwork.

De Gea has since inked a four-year contract with the Mancunian giants with the option of an additional 12 months, but this has not diminished speculation over his future.

According to Sky Sports News, United are growing confident of keeping hold of their star goalkeeper after they clinched a Champions League spot via their Europa League triumph.

It is added that the 26-year-old won't push for a move to the Bernabeu in the summer, and a final decision would be left to the Red Devils' hierarchy.

Jose Mourinho's side finished a lowly sixth in the Premier League standings, but they managed to salvage their season by lifting two trophies including the EFL Cup.
