Arsenal willing to let Perez go on the cheap

03 June 2017 - 17:05

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly looking to offload striker Lucas Perez and will sell him for as low as £13 million, which has put many La Liga sides on red alert.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Lucas Perez has endured a torrid time at the Emirates since his move from Deportivo in the summer for £17.1 million.

The Spaniard only appeared 11 times in the Premier League, scoring just once. Overall, he appeared 21 times and only scored seven.

Perez arrived from Deportivo with a decent reputation and good goal-scoring form, netting 17 times in 36 games for a relegation-threatened side.

Arsene Wenger recently signed a two-year extension at the club and has expressed his intentions to bring in world-class players. Indefinitely, it would also mean clearing the squad of players who are have not shown the ability to compete at the top level.

Such is the horrid form of Perez that Arsene Wenger is looking to offload him for only £13 million, more than £4 million less than his original transfer fee, according to The Independent.

This has set many La Liga sides on red alert as Perez's reputation in La Liga has not been forgotten after he helped Deportivo escape relegation in his two years at the club.
